  • In Mexico City today, Enrique Pena Nieto, leader of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, has sworn in as president of the United States of Mexico. The NOW former president, Felipe Calderon, has surrendered his power and the flag of Mexico, to Pena Nieto. Pena Nieto has promised to end the drug wars, helped rebuild the economy, and bring in more democracy to the people, than the old policies in the 20th century. The PRI has been controling Mexico with and iron fist, causing brutal corruption, vote-rigging, and a small amount of democracy. They would later go through their downfall, where it had problems with the economy. Starting in 1994, candidate Luis Donaldo Colosio was assassinated. Then the 1997 legislative elections came, where the PRI failed to win a majority in the Congress of the Union. Their official downfall was in 2000, when the National Action Party (PAN), won the presidential elections, with a minority. The PAN, with their minority, had problems with Mexico, where the drug wars started, poverty was at stake, and more people were killed. Today, Pena Nieto finally made a promise to ignore the past life of the PRI, and to start rebuilding Mexico more stronger, and with democracy. Protest have broke out, this afternoon. I wish the PRI good luck, but this time, be very careful.
